Flags appear on what the checks actually flagged. Before drawing anything, the overlay applied a second cutoff of its own, set far above the point at which the checks had already concluded a post was AI-generated. Almost nothing cleared it. The extension could read a post, decide it was machine-written, assemble the reasons why — and then show you nothing at all. If it has felt like the extension was not doing anything, this is why, and it was not something you had configured. The flag now appears on anything the checks do not clear as human, which is the behaviour the sensitivity setting was always meant to control.

The extension no longer slows the page down. On sites that rebuild themselves constantly — a playing video rewrites its progress bar and its clock many times a second — Slop Squash treated every one of those updates as a reason to re-examine the whole page, several times a second, for as long as the video played. On a test page shaped like a video watch page, the extension's share of the browser's work has gone from over half to under a tenth of that. It now measures how long its own work takes and waits proportionally longer before repeating it, so it keeps to a small share of the page however busy the page is.

Comment threads scroll smoothly again. Checking whether a comment had been edited forced the browser to recalculate the page layout, and it did that for every comment on screen every time anything on the page moved. It now looks only at the comment that actually changed.

Less work in the background. The search for content hidden inside a page's components ran every two seconds for as long as a tab was open, whether or not there was anything new to find. It now eases off once a page has settled, and stops entirely while a tab is in the background.
