Sip is a browser extension that replaces your new tab page with a cozy, customizable startpage. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data.

Sip:

- ❌ Does NOT track your browsing activity
- ❌ Does NOT send any data to external servers
- ❌ Does NOT use analytics or tracking scripts
- ❌ Does NOT share any data with third parties

Local Storage

The extension stores your preferences locally in your browser using the browser's built-in storage API. This data includes:

• Theme preference (light/dark mode)
• Time format preference (12-hour/24-hour)
• Temperature unit preference (Fahrenheit/Celsius)
• Preferred search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, GitHub, YouTube)

This data:
- Is stored only on your device
- Is never transmitted to any external server
- Can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

External Resources

The extension loads the following external resources:

• Font Awesome (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) - For icons
• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) - For the JetBrains Mono font

Search Functionality

When you perform a search, you are redirected to your chosen search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, GitHub, or YouTube). Your search query is sent directly to that search engine, not through any intermediary. Please refer to the respective search engine's privacy policy for information on how they handle your data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
