Simple AI Translator is a focused browser extension for fast, everyday translation workflows.

Key features:

Popup translation for typed or pasted text
On-demand dictionary lookup for eligible short input
Selection translation with a floating action button and draggable result bubble
Script-aware language direction assistance for common Latin/CJK input
Configurable AI provider endpoint (OpenAI-compatible APIs)

How it works:

Translate text in the popup
Or select text on any page and translate inline
Optionally review dictionary-style meanings when lookup is available

Privacy and data:

The extension stores only required settings (such as provider configuration and language preferences)
Source and translated text are not persistently stored as translation history
Translation requests are sent to the user-configured third-party provider endpoint for processing

Permissions:

storage: save extension settings
Host access (<all_urls>): enable user-triggered selected-text translation on visited pages
