Rosewash customizes the appearance of web pages using color palettes, optional local fonts, and optional reading layouts.
Rosewash processes page elements and their styles on your device to change colors, typography, and layout. It reads the current page address to apply site-specific settings and display the current site in its popup. It does not record a browsing history, store page contents, or send page contents or browsing activity to the developer. Page styling state is temporary and lasts only while the page is open.
Rosewash saves your enabled state, appearance mode, palettes, selected font names, layout and image-dimming preferences, website rules, and per-site CSS selectors for ignored elements using chrome.storage.sync. These preferences remain until you change or remove them. If your browser enables extension settings synchronization, its sync provider may receive and synchronize these preferences across your devices. In Google Chrome, this service is provided by Google and is subject to your browser settings and Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Rosewash does not operate a server that receives these preferences. The developer cannot access your browser sync storage.
In Firefox, you can enter the names of fonts installed on your device. Rosewash saves those selected names in extension settings and applies the fonts locally. It does not enumerate installed fonts or upload font files. Custom fonts are disabled by default.
Rosewash contains no advertising, analytics, telemetry, or remote executable code. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to customizing page appearance. The extension does not send user data to the developer or other services; the browser-managed settings synchronization described above is the only synchronization used by Rosewash.
You can disable Rosewash globally, exclude individual websites, turn off custom fonts or image dimming, and edit saved preferences from its settings. You can remove website rules and ignored-element selectors in the Sites tab, or choose Page default for a font category. Changes save automatically. You can manage synchronization in your browser. Uninstalling Rosewash removes the extension from that browser; management of any synchronized copy is controlled by the browser's sync service.
