ReadTrace brings back the joy of focused reading. Open any news article, blog post or document, press Alt+Shift+R, and a clean reading layer instantly sweeps away ads, sidebars and pop-ups — leaving only the pure text, beautifully typeset like a well-designed book. Three free themes — Paper, Sepia and Night — cover daylight and late-night reading with gentle, eye-friendly palettes that keep fatigue away during long sessions. Pro themes, paragraph and bionic focus, and read-aloud make long reads effortless: paragraph focus keeps you oriented line by line, bionic focus anchors key words for faster scanning, and read-aloud lets you "finish" an article while commuting or doing chores.

Typography is just as refined. Four font families — serif, sans-serif, monospace and system — suit news, novels, code and academic papers. Font size adjusts finely from 14 to 36, with line-height and letter-spacing fine-tuned to taste. Narrow, medium and wide columns let long paragraphs breathe, and the wide column with justified text feels like a printed page. Images, code blocks, tables and quotes are all styled elegantly inside the reader; click any image to inspect it full-screen in a lightbox, or hide all images with a single toggle.

An outline navigates chapters of long-form reporting in a glance and auto-highlights the heading you are reading as you scroll. In-page search highlights every match with previous / next navigation and a match counter. The progress bar and reading time keep you in control; Markdown export makes saving and re-editing easy; and scroll memory resumes exactly where you left off. Selecting text pops up a quick-action bar — search or copy in one click, and read even faster.

ReadTrace also auto-detects article-like pages and opens the reader with your permission. For sites that misfire, add them to the ignore list with one click and never be disturbed again. All data stays local — no browsing history is collected, no account required. The interface speaks English, 中文 and 日本語. Payments are secure, with membership state cached locally — your reading never waits on the network.

Shortcuts feel just as smooth: Alt+Shift+R toggles the reader, Esc exits, T switches themes, F cycles focus modes, Ctrl+F searches, and R starts reading aloud. Every toolbar button shows a tooltip, and the help panel lists all shortcuts at a glance.
