Kickplex Privacy Policy

Kickplex is a browser extension that lets you watch multiple Kick.com streams at the same time. We take a hard stance on user privacy: the extension collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server we operate, and is not funded by advertising or tracking.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO
- We do not run any backend service. There is no Kickplex server that your browser talks to.
- We do not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage statistics.
- We do not embed any third-party tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting code.
- We do not require you to sign up, create an account, or share your email with us.
- We do not read, store, or transmit your Kick.com password.

WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES IN YOUR BROWSER
- Reads your existing Kick.com session cookie (the same cookie your browser already holds from logging in to kick.com) so it can call the same public Kick.com APIs the kick.com website calls. The cookie never leaves your machine.
- Plays Kick.com video streams directly from Amazon IVS HLS endpoints. Streams flow from Amazon IVS to your browser; we do not proxy them.
- Connects to Kick.com's Pusher service for live chat events. Messages flow directly between Pusher and your browser; we do not see or store them.
- Saves your local preferences (layout, font size, recently watched channels, frequent emotes) in chrome.storage.local on your own computer. This data never leaves your machine.
- Optionally shows desktop notifications when channels you have recently watched go live. The notification permission is opt-in and is only used for live-status alerts; nothing is reported back.

THIRD PARTIES
When you use Kickplex, your browser communicates with these third parties on your behalf, exactly as it would when you visit kick.com directly:
- Kick.com (channel data, chat actions, authentication)
- Amazon IVS / Amazon Web Services (video stream delivery)
- Pusher (live chat events for Kick.com)

These services have their own privacy policies. Kickplex does not pass your data to them beyond what is necessary for the features above to work, and adds no identifiers of its own.

CHANGES
If we ever change what the extension does with data, we will update this policy and bump the extension version. The current source code is the authoritative description of what the extension does at any moment.
