ChineseDict browser extension
The extension reads the Chinese text under your cursor only when a lookup is triggered (Hold Shift + hover by default), to find the word in a dictionary stored inside the extension. This text is never sent anywhere.
Your settings (on/off, per-site switches, activation, delay, theme, text size) are stored in your browser's local extension storage and stay on your device.
When you press a pronunciation button, the extension downloads that recording from cdn.chinesedict.com. The request contains the recording's file name plus the standard data any web request carries, such as your IP address. The extension makes no other network requests.
