per Darkman, fa 5 mesosThey removed the "purge all caches" button!
Update 2024-01-18:
So, if I have a page with updated anti-adblocker script (not YT), I have to wait up to 5 hours now. Or I have to click on the clock icons from all the lists. This is really a usability improvement......not.
Update 2024-01-19:
I probably expressed myself badly:
I have a site that doesn't want me to use an adblocker. The site recognizes the adblocker with some script and blocks me. This happens every few weeks. The last time was a few days ago with uBO 1.55.
My solution so far: Use the "Purge all caches" button. Then I was able to visit the site again. For me, this meant that I had one/several outdated filter lists in uBO.
If the problem was caused by another addon or my browser, I would not be able to solve the problem with "Purge all caches".

s'ha publicat fa 5 mesosThe "Purge all caches" button was causing people to download multi MBs of filter lists with no guarantee that the fix was present in any these lists. There is no need for that crude way of updating filter lists:
- Differential updates ensure you have most recent filters multiple times per day instead of once every 6 days
- In case a fix is added to a list and is immediately needed by a user, we provide a click-to-update link in support channels to guarantee you receive the fix with minimal bandwidth burden
Keep in mind uBO is not monetized and we can't afford to end up having to pay tens of thousands of US dollars to a CDN providers to host the lists -- this would be the end of the project.
Update 2024-01-18:
The updated anti-blocker has no effect on uBO, no fix needs to be added to the lists, so something else in your browser is causing this, and re-downloading all the lists would have accomplished nothing except pointlessly consumes bandwidth of the server.
You need to follow the instructions to the letter: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/20586

I've been using this extension on all my browsers on all my devices for many years now. I just cannot view the web without it. It's the perfect adblocker.

To explain, Modrinth is a website that hosts Minecraft mods, resource packs, and similar files and provides revenue to the people creating them. To do this, they use ads, albeit unobtrusively and leading to legitimate partners such as server hosts. So for uBlock Origin to suddenly blacklist Modrinth by default, AND stifle all discussion about it on their Github, makes zero sense. I'm gonna have to swap adblockers until they can get their act together and focus on far more malicious content rather than harmless ads that genuinely help out a website and its users at the same time. - S'ha valorat amb 1 sobre 5per Cammie, fa 4 diesapparently now supports screwing over small creators and other community-run projects, and anyone who attempts to ask them to not just gets their response deleted
I cant in good conscious recommend any community-run project that is willing to harm other community-run projects, especially when they won't even listen to valid criticism of their decisions

- S'ha valorat amb 1 sobre 5per NothingTheta, fa 5 diesuBlock censors content added to posts by users of a service. Not just "big evil ads" but small affiliate links, at the bottom of pages, by small solo developers. In my opinion this is a gross overreach of what uBlock Origin should be used for. uBlock Origin should block ads, not small affiliate links added by developers just making something for fun and just wanting a little bit back.
It is ridiculous for uBlock origin to censor the content people post like this, why do they think they are the deciders of what content is allowed to exist on the internet? Shameful.
I can see the reason for a opt in filter list for things like affiliate links for those who care, but on by default censoring users content is ridiculous.
