YouTube Transcript Extractor helps you retrieve caption text that YouTube makes available for the video currently open in your browser.

• Switch the interface between 20 languages.

HOW TO USE

1. Open a YouTube video.
2. Click the YouTube Transcript Extractor toolbar button.
3. Refresh the track list if needed, select an available caption track, and click Extract transcript.
4. Preview, copy, or save the transcript. Use Open full viewer for a larger view.

AVAILABILITY AND LIMITATIONS

The extension can extract only caption text that YouTube makes available to the current player or session. Available languages, automatic captions, and translated tracks vary by video and by YouTube. The extension does not download video files or generate captions when YouTube provides none.

PRIVACY

To retrieve captions, the extension may send the current video's ID and caption-request parameters directly to YouTube. YouTube processes those requests under its own policies. Extracted transcript text is processed locally by the extension and is not sent to the developer or to an independent transcription service. The extension contains no analytics, advertising, account system, or developer-operated backend. Please see the privacy policy for details.
