Open Until is an event-based household ledger for items whose useful life changes after opening. Each item has a category, storage state, remaining quantity, and chronological event strip. Opening, chilling, freezing, thawing, a warm gap, an observed change, and partial use all update the item record and its ordering in the use queue.

The central label shows an estimated remaining window and a plain status such as steady, use next, or review now. Items are sorted by current priority so an overlooked carton, jar, produce bundle, cosmetic, or dry good becomes visible without searching a spreadsheet. A restock sample demonstrates the complete interaction model.

Open Until does not claim to determine food, cosmetic, or household-product safety. Its estimates are organizational prompts based on category and recorded handling events. Users must use product instructions, official safety guidance, and their own observation when deciding whether an item is suitable to use.
