foxrunner — agent tasks that resume 作者: Pooria
Run a task of named steps in the background of your browser. Each step saves its state, so the task goes on after Firefox unloads the add-on, crashes or restarts. Steps retry, and a wait uses an alarm.

關於此擴充套件
foxrunner is the reference add-on for the foxrunner library. It shows durable tasks for AI agents and other long jobs in a browser extension.
Who it is for: developers who build agents or extensions with tasks that take minutes or hours, and anyone who wants to see how such a task survives a restart.
What it does
Close the popup while the task runs: the task goes on.
What leaves your computer: nothing. Tasks and their state stay in the add-on's local storage. The add-on has no server and no analytics.

What it does
- Starts a sample task from the popup. The task has five steps: prepare, a slow step, a wait of 2 minutes, a step that fails two times before it works, and finish.
- Saves the state of each step before it starts and after it ends. When Firefox unloads the background page, or restarts, the task goes on from the last finished step.
- Retries a failed step with a back-off.
- Waits with an alarm, so no timer keeps the background page loaded.
- Lists each task with its steps, attempts and status. You can pause, resume and cancel a task.

Permissions
- Storage: keep each task and the state of its steps.
- Alarms: wake the background page for a wait or a retry.
