You can get the previous one (6.0.0.4) in the section "version history - See all versions"
It may not work directly so right click on the "Download file" link to save it locally.
It will throw an error when trying to install the extension file by double clicking the extension file. In that case:
* enter about:debugging#/runtime/ at the location bar.
* Activate the "Load Temporary Add-on" option
* try again to install from the local file. I was a very satisfied (premium) user of this add-on for over 15 years.
However, in the last year, the experience has deteriorated: saving images does not always work, and searching for annotations from the web interface often returns no results, even though the searched text is present in an annotation.
With the latest release (6.0.0.5resigned1), the add-on has stopped working entirely. I contacted care@diigo.com to no avail. I, too, had to revert to the previous version. Easily my most used addon, ever. Never gets new features, but it's fine since the real magic is its ability to highlight and notate any website, anywhere on the web, at any time.
Thankfully Diigo hasn't bloated it with junk or telemetry like other companies do, nor have they stripped out functionality like other companies do (cough Google cough).
The reason for 2-stars: the latest update (v6.0.0.5resigned1) has broken this addon. Once fixed, it's easily a 5-star addon. Til then, I had to uninstall and reinstall an older version in order for it to be usable again. I paid for premium. My tags aren't showing up in the tag management area. I've made multiple attempts to contact the company. The web app indicates I'm supposed to have premium support. I also tried on Twitter/X. Since the boomarklet says to rate the app, I'm posting here to see if they finally respond to me. I'll give it two stars because it's got so much potential, but this total un-responsiveness to paying customers is weird.

UPDATE May 11--once again, this extension's update doesn't work anymore in Firefox, latest version. Have to manually add every page. Well - it works, but beware that when you're on the Free plan, you have a limit of 500 annotations, and it's not mentioned on their webpage or during the sign-up process, which is shady.
Keep in mind that you can still make annotations after you hit your limit, but making a new one will force you to dismiss a popup box that tells you that you're over quota, and will nag you every time you visit their webpage.
The premium subscription is priced ridiculously, at 40$ a year. It certainly DOES NOT cost them 40$ a year to host small text files and a few megabytes of cached content. Developers should be paid for their work, but what they're charging is far too much for such a basic service. In contrast, you could get 100GB of Google Drive storage for 25$/year, and Apollo Ultra costs 10$/year, and that developer actually communicates, updates the app and is transparent about their billing practices.
Not only that, but updates are extremely rare (just take a look at their blog page, the last post is from May 2018), and their "Groups" social feature looks like it hasn't been updated since 2008. It's also filled with spam.
All I want is an extension that allows me to annotate without connecting to any cloud-based service (Seeing how they barely update anything, security is a concern).
Alternatives to Diigo are relatively hard to find. I would have thought that extensions that let you highlight, annotate and tag would have been more commonplace, but the only actual alternative I found was hypothes.is. That service is updated much more frequently, and costs nothing for non-LMS uses. The main drawback to that, however, is the rather clunky UI that doesn't play well with NoScript and the lack of an official Firefox extension, as well as the constant cloud connectivity. - 評價 2 分,滿分 5 分來自 Firefox 使用者 13574424,4 年前i am a paying client since 4 or 5 years, the Firefox version of the highlighter works in 80% of the pages in chrome works perfect. Updates come every 2 years or something like that? ...painful. I continue paying because there is no decent alternative, it's a pity

Prefer legacy Diigo Toolbar 5.1.0.38, with Waterfox instead of Firefox.
Current version 6.0.0.4 seems unable to bookmark PDF URLs, and so on. I am continually told that Diigo Web Collector is slowing down my Firefox browser. Is there a solution for this as I like using both products.
The capture feature interferes with my audio transcription work with the annotate feature sitting right on top of the audio slide, which makes it sometimes impossible for me to re-listen to portions of the audio. There doesn't seem to be any way to turn it. Although I like the webpage archiving, I am seriously considering finding another way to save webpages.
This update has made Diigo all but useless to me. The only reason I'm keeping it is because the "email link" function, while slower now than it was before the update, is still faster than any other I can find. As soon as I find a faster one I'm out of here.

The sticky notes are an extremely useful tool that I use often to cache arbitrary data on a webpage. I'd say it deserves to be in the main menu, more than the "Annotate PDF" or screenshots or whatever...
Where is the one click bookmark - where are the drop down tagged bookmarks on the toolbar? An annoyance
I need it. Also wasted a lot of time diagnosing where it went and why I could not get it back.
Nothing more to add to all the other voices who request it. Why did you retire the most useful features? Please bring them back asap.
Rating down to 2 from 5 - 評價 2 分,滿分 5 分來自 MaryAnne1383,7 年前I've used this tool for years and I pay to use it. Why would you take away wonderful paid features? Please bring them back. I use these features daily!!!
This may have been one of the add-ons that kept me using Firefox before this last update. Integration into the toolbar allowing me to access my bookmarks without requiring me always go through the Diigo website was one of the main features that kept me using Diigo and Firefox. It was built into my daily routines. Without it, I now have to look into other alternatives. I have not fully reviewed the entire latest update so I will continue to review it, but as of now I am looking for better options.
