browser-cli lets you control your real, running browser from the terminal or from Python scripts. It is not a headless browser and does not use a virtual display: commands operate on your actual open tabs, windows, tab groups, and pages.

The add-on works together with the real-browser-cli Python package through Firefox Native Messaging. After installing the native host, you can list and search tabs, open URLs, manage tab groups, save and restore sessions, inspect page information, extract page text, links, images, HTML, or Markdown, and automate DOM actions on pages you explicitly target.

Typical use cases include browser automation, tab cleanup, session management, research workflows, scripting repetitive browser tasks, and integrating a visible browser into local developer tools or agent workflows.

browser-cli does not collect analytics, telemetry, or tracking data. Browser data is accessed only when you explicitly run a command, and processing happens locally unless you intentionally configure browser-cli's optional remote-control mode for machines you control.
