A free store audit for Shopify, BigCommerce and SHOPLINE stores that do not run LimeSpot yet. The Growth Grader reads your storefront the way a shopper does and grades how hard it works for the traffic you already have.
The LimeSpot Growth Grader Agent reads your live store and hands back a grade: the headline number, the factors behind it, and the fix for each factor. It is free, it runs from your browser, and it writes nothing to your store: it publishes nothing and it saves nothing to your account.
A low grade is the best news the Grader can give you. It measures headroom, not failure: the lower it comes back, the more orders are sitting in traffic your store already gets. A struggling store has the most to gain from this, not the least.
WHY RUN IT BEFORE YOUR BUSY SEASON
Traffic goes up in peak season. Conversion rate does not go up with it. A product page that gives a shopper nowhere to go next gives more shoppers nowhere to go next once the season arrives, and the loss scales with the traffic instead of shrinking under it.
The audit takes minutes. The fixes take longer than that. A change has to be decided, made, published and then given enough traffic to show whether it worked, and once your season is underway, rebuilding a page that is currently taking orders is a risk worth declining. That is the whole argument for running it in a quiet week: same report either way, completely different amount you can do about it.
HOW IT WORKS
Install the extension, open the storefront you want graded, click the LimeSpot icon in your toolbar and choose the free Growth Grader. The extension opens our form with that store already filled in. You give a work email and open the secure link we send to it. That is all we ask before you see the grade. On the page the link opens, one click starts the Grader on your store, in a tab you already have open on it or in a new one.
The agent reads five kinds of page and no others: Home, Product, Collection, Cart and Search. It finds them the way a shopper would, from your store's own links, and reads the ones your store has. It reads them at desktop and mobile width at the same time, because the same store can be a different store on a phone.
Then it gives you the grade, the factors behind it, and for each factor the specific change that would move it. Not "add product recommendations". Which page, which spot, and what belongs there.
CAN AI SEE YOUR STORE?
The audit also reports on AI visibility: whether your robots rules and server responses let AI crawlers read your storefront, whether your product data carries the fields a shopping assistant looks for before it will quote you, and whether your product pages answer the questions such an assistant asks. It names the fix for each one, and those fixes are usually a robots rule, a theme change or a product-data change you or your developer can make without LimeSpot involved at all.
WHAT THE AGENT DOES ON YOUR STORE
It browses the way a shopper would. It scrolls your pages, it opens your cart, and it runs one sample search. That is a real search on your storefront, so it will appear in your own search analytics. If a pop-up covers the page, it closes it and carries on.
Images of your pages are processed by LimeSpot and its AI provider, because the agent grades what a shopper actually sees rather than what your theme settings claim.
It changes nothing a shopper can see and it publishes nothing. The only marks it leaves anywhere are that one search in your search analytics and the page images it sends to LimeSpot and its AI provider to read.
HOW IT BEHAVES
• Nothing happens until you click. The extension never acts on a page on its own.
• It reads a page only when you open its popup there or choose that store. It reads nothing from any other site you visit.
• Opening one of your stores from the popup never opens a second tab: it uses the tab you are in, or resumes a Grader you already started in the tab where it runs.
• The Grader never starts on a store page that is still loading, and it says so while it waits: the popup shows "Waiting for this page", and a Grader started from limespot.com shows "Waiting for the store page to finish loading" on the storefront.
• It runs entirely from the installed package. No code is downloaded and executed at any point.
• It sends data only to LimeSpot's own services — limespot.com, personalizer.io and app-ai.personalizer.io. It makes no request to any other site.
• A Grader session lasts 30 minutes and is discarded when it ends, when you close its tab, or when you close the browser. When you start a Grader run from limespot.com, the popup remembers that store's address for up to 30 days so it can list it.
• A Studio sign-in is kept for your own storefront until it expires, you log out of Studio, you choose Disconnect and forget in the popup, or you uninstall. Disconnect and forget also removes the remembered Grader store.
WHEN YOU WANT THE FIXES MADE
It does the work. You publish it.
The Grader reads and grades, and stops there. That is the whole free tool.
LimeSpot Growth Agents is the paid platform: the same fleet, with permission to work. The agents draft the setup — the product recommendations, the upsell and cross-sell, the merchandising and the offers — designed from your own pages. The design is built from screenshots of your real pages at both widths, and the capture reads the content wrapper your theme uses for its own sections, so anything the agents add sits in the same gutter and the same maximum width as the rest of the page instead of breaking out of it.
You review the draft and you publish it. Nothing a shopper can see changes until you publish.
RESULTS YOU CAN CHECK
Every vendor reports its own numbers. The two lifts below were measured against a group of shoppers who did not get the feature, so the lift is what that group did not do. The stores in between are reporting their own attribution, and we label it as such.
Black Forest Décor ran a six-week A/B test against the native recommendation engine built into BigCommerce, the platform the store was on at the time, and measured 7% net new incremental revenue, 3% higher average order value and 10% higher conversion. Their CEO put the 7% on the record. They ran it there for about two years, then replatformed to Shopify and kept LimeSpot through the move.
What long-running merchants report from their own analytics: BeautifiedYou.com converts 26% on product recommendations, Bedford Camera & Video takes 22% of revenue through them on a high-ticket catalog, GetGlowing Skincare took 22% of revenue in a single month led by Frequently Bought Together, and Spartan Tool takes 18% of store revenue with upsell converting around 21%.
A menswear retailer ran LimeSpot Frequently Bought Together on product pages as a 50/50 controlled holdout, 336,213 unique sessions in one arm against 334,295 in the other: 15% higher revenue, 19% higher session-to-purchase conversion, 4% higher average order value and 16% higher revenue per session, at 99.6% statistical significance.
LimeSpot has been doing this with merchants for more than a decade. The Growth Grader Agent is the first member of the fleet.
WHAT YOU NEED
That is the whole list. Nothing goes on your storefront: no code, no app on your store, no theme changes, and no sales call before you see your grade. It reads a storefront the way a shopper does, so it grades any Shopify, SHOPLINE or BigCommerce storefront you can open in a browser that does not already run LimeSpot, including one that is not yours. Each store you verify with your email gets two completed runs, and a run that fails does not count. If your storefront is on another platform, the form the extension opens puts you on the waitlist instead of guessing at a store LimeSpot does not understand.
ALREADY A LIMESPOT MERCHANT?
The Growth Grader is for stores without LimeSpot, so the extension never starts it on a store that already runs LimeSpot. There the popup offers Open Studio on this page instead: LimeSpot Studio, the in-page editor where you place and tune product recommendations, merchandising and offers on your live storefront, in the spot a shopper will see them.
Sign in to Studio once and the extension keeps that sign-in for your own storefront, so you do not sign in again each time you open Studio from the popup. The popup also lists the other stores your LimeSpot sign-in is assigned and opens Studio on any of them the same way. Your LimeSpot account decides which stores a sign-in reaches; the extension grants no access of its own.
