Limpid is a browser extension that summarizes the web page you are reading, shows its text without ads, and lets you chat with an AI about it. It is published by Jeed (contact: hello@jeed.io).

What Limpid stores on your device: your settings, including the API key(s) you enter for Anthropic, OpenAI, Mistral or Alibaba Cloud (Qwen), kept in the browser's extension storage; and, if enabled, your reading history (for each summarized page: URL, title, extracted text, summary and conversation), stored only in your browser. You can delete any entry, clear everything, or disable the feature in the settings.

What Limpid sends, and to whom: when you ask for a summary or a question, the extracted text of the current page, your question and the recent conversation are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected, using your own API key. Their handling of that data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Nothing is sent anywhere else: Limpid has no server of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no trackers.

What Limpid does not do: it does not read pages in the background (it only accesses the page you are on when you trigger it); it does not collect, sell or share personal data; it does not use your browsing history, cookies or passwords.

Permissions: activeTab and scripting (read the current page when you trigger the extension); storage and unlimitedStorage (settings, keys and local history); host access to api.anthropic.com, api.openai.com, api.mistral.ai and dashscope*.aliyuncs.com (call the AI provider you chose).

Your choices: remove a page from the history, clear the history, disable saving, or delete your API keys at any time in the settings. Uninstalling the extension deletes all its stored data.
