Om detta tillägg
Make Blackboard Ultra, Canvas and Moodle feel like yours. Glaze restyles your courses with palettes, fonts, backgrounds and motion, and adds tools for planning and studying right where you do your coursework. It works at any school using Blackboard Ultra, Canvas or Moodle, including on a school's own domain. What Glaze keeps stays on your device.
NEW IN 3.0.1
• Control surface opacity, tint, frost, shadow color and strength, and borders. Every content surface follows your Look’s rounded corners, including course-specific Looks and document controls.
• Seven animated pets, including the Glaze droplet and Rime, plus local import of ChatGPT pet packages. Existing XP and decorations stay. Motion pauses while hidden and follows reduced motion and Glaze Motion off.
• Lighter Blackboard course tabs and fewer background updates. Smaller machines keep fewer live pages; edited pages stay protected. Solid backgrounds skip glass blur.
NEW IN 3.0
• Blackboard Ultra gets a Glaze Dashboard and widgets you place anywhere: Better To Do, notes, an agenda, a focus timer, and your course cards as widgets you can move, resize and fold.
• Course tabs on Blackboard: every course you open gets a tab, as in a browser. Up to four stay live, so a tab comes back exactly as you left it: the open page, what you typed and where you scrolled.
• Search inside your courses with Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac), and hide folders you don't use.
• Restyle Blackboard's navigation: logo, sizes and spacing, reordered or hidden items, and your own links.
• Moodle: the same Looks, plus your course total on each course card, what's due this week and keyboard shortcuts.
• A settings editor in eight tabs, with search and a live preview at desktop or phone widths.
YOUR LOOK
• Pick a palette, edit all fourteen colors, save your own palettes, or pair light and dark palettes with your system's appearance or a schedule.
• Choose fonts for text, headings and code, including Lexend and OpenDyslexic, about forty more, or any Google Font by name. Adjust text size, line height, spacing, rounded corners, depth and frosted glass.
• Use a solid background, a linear, radial, conic or mesh gradient, an aurora, your own image link, or one of ten animated scenes. One Intensity slider sets how much a scene stands out.
• Apply one of ten Looks: a matching palette, fonts, shape and background in one click, including the Halloween Looks Graveyard and Pumpkin Patch. Share a Look as a one-line theme code that previews before it applies, or browse free Looks at frostdev.io/glaze/looks.
• Give a course its own color, tint or Look. Style course cards with a color, gradient or picture, and add bookmarks to them.
• Place stickers on course pages, pick a pointer set, or let Glaze rotate through your favorite Looks.
• Choose Off, Subtle or Expressive motion. Glaze follows your reduced-motion setting by default, and animated scenes pause in background tabs.
PLAN AND STUDY ON BLACKBOARD ULTRA AND CANVAS
• Better To Do (on by default): your work by day (past due, today, tomorrow, this week, later), with your own tasks, steps, "do on" days and focus sessions.
• Tasks on course cards, due-date reminders inside the page (never browser notifications) and an optional streak, each off until you turn it on.
• Export your deadlines and plans as a calendar file (.ics) for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
• Import your class schedule or a course syllabus from a PDF, photo, Word file, web page or pasted text. Glaze reads it on your device and shows everything for you to check before it keeps anything.
• Notes with folders, rich text, pictures and attachments. Widgets: an agenda, a focus timer, quotes, music, a breathing exercise and a study buddy. Insights on your term, and a pet habitat. Off by default.
• Gradescope assignments in Better To Do, if you turn it on.
EXTRAS ON BLACKBOARD ULTRA
• Course Content: due-date status such as “in 2 days · Unopened”, “Submitted”, “Submitted late” and “Graded · 18/20”; closed-folder previews; course progress; new-content badges; and returning to the folders and scroll position you left.
• Grades: score bars, percentages and new-grade badges, a what-if calculator that keeps your trial scores on your device until real grades arrive, and an optional GPA with past terms and a goal.
• Courses page: grades on course cards when your instructor shares them, course nicknames and colors, and counts of new grades and content.
• Folders and learning modules: Download all makes a zip of accessible files from items you've already opened. Unopened items are left out, so downloading does not mark them viewed.
• Blackboard editors: a local typing backup can offer back your writing after a reload or session timeout, before it is posted.
• Course documents: focus mode, a reading-progress line, a reading-time estimate and an optional dark view.
EXTRAS ON CANVAS
• Modules: course progress from completion requirements, previews of closed modules, new-item badges, your place, and Download all for a module's files (items you haven't opened are left out).
• Grades and Assignments: score bars and percentages, due-date status and urgency, a what-if calculator that follows Canvas's own grading rules, and an optional GPA.
• Dashboard: card grades, course tint and Looks, card colors, gradients and pictures, bookmarks, and new-item counts. Style Canvas's sidebar too.
• Canvas's document viewer in your palette, with an optional pen and highlighter whose marks stay on your device.
• Draft backup for new Inbox messages to individual users, keyboard shortcuts, and hiding parts of the page you don't use.
Canvas's own what-if scores, editor recovery, nicknames, colors, Files-folder zips and unread counts belong to Canvas. Glaze themes them; it does not replace them.
ON MOODLE
• The theme on Moodle's Boost theme (Moodle 5, and 4.x where its markup is the same): Dashboard, My courses, course and activity pages, grades, calendar, messages and the login page.
• Your course total on each course card, what's due this week from your Timeline, a tint and Look per course, and keyboard shortcuts.
EVERYWHERE
Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) to jump to courses, pages, Glaze settings and due work. The popup keeps quick controls close. On Blackboard and Canvas, What Glaze can do lists every extra with its switch. Export and import all your settings as a file.
OPTIONAL SHARE SESSIONS
Share selected notes, files, a Look or your own tasks with classmates. Everything is encrypted on your device before it leaves, through frostdev.io's relay or one you host yourself. Sharing stays off until you create or join a session, and Glaze works fully without it.
Glaze's helpers do not change grades, submit coursework or send messages. What-if scores are hypothetical and stay on your device.
PRIVACY
No analytics, no ads and no account. Settings stay in your browser and follow Chrome sync if it is on. Course details, grade records, notes, tasks, your place, the due list and typing backups stay on your device. Glaze reads your own Blackboard, Canvas or Moodle site using your existing session. Chosen web fonts and background images make ordinary network requests. Course tab pictures stay in memory and are never sent anywhere. Share sessions, only if you use them, send encrypted content that the relay cannot read. Glaze does not collect or sell your coursework, grades, credentials or browsing history.
