CLI Summary av ea13.33
Right-click a YouTube page, tab, or link and copy a ready-to-paste prompt that has any command-line AI agent fetch the video's transcript and condense it under 1000 words. Nothing is uploaded — the prompt goes to your clipboard, and no further.

CLI Summary does one thing: it puts a prompt on your clipboard.
Right-click a YouTube page, a YouTube tab in the tab strip, or a link pointing at YouTube, and choose "CLI Summary". What lands on the clipboard is about 350 words of instruction, ready to paste into a session with any command-line agent that can run a command and read a file:
• the canonical video URL, stripped of playlist, timestamp and tracking parameters, together with the video's title
• a yt-dlp command that fetches the subtitle track, with instructions to fall back to whatever transcript or web tool the agent has — and to stop rather than invent a summary from the title if it can find no captions
• the editorial rules for the brief itself: under 1000 words, only what is genuinely new, keep the numbers and names and citations, lead with the claim rather than following the running order, attribute contested claims to the speaker, no "in this video" filler
The extension does no summarising itself and makes no requests of its own. It sends nothing anywhere, stores nothing, and has no account, no API key and no settings. Everything it does happens between the right-click and the clipboard; the agent you paste into does the work, using whatever model you already pay for.
Why the permissions:
• menus — to put the item in the context menu
• clipboardWrite — to place the prompt on the clipboard
• scripting, activeTab — to show the confirmation toast on the page
• youtube.com, youtu.be — to recognise a video page
Watch pages, youtu.be links, Shorts, live URLs, embeds, music.youtube.com and youtube-nocookie.com all resolve to the same canonical video. A channel or playlist page has no single video, so the item says so rather than copying something wrong.
