ZenR-NewTab — genz

ZenR turns every new tab into a personal workspace. Built around
a liquid-glass aesthetic inspired by Apple's UI design language,
it replaces the default blank page with a fully customizable
bookmark manager complete with live wallpapers, productivity
widgets, and deep visual controls.

TWO LAYOUTS
────────────────────

Classic Boards — Organize bookmarks into draggable glass cards
("boards"), each with its own name and optional color tint.
Boards live inside named Pages, so you can separate Work,
Entertainment, Research, and anything else across dedicated tabs.

Minimal Groups — A clean, distraction-free icon grid. Adjust how
many links appear per row (3–16) and choose from three icon
styles: Default, Glass, or Minimal.

WALLPAPERS
────────────────────

• Gradient presets — a curated palette of beautiful gradients,
ready to apply in one click.

• Image backgrounds — search Pixabay's library of millions of
free images directly inside ZenR (requires a free Pixabay API
key), or upload your own JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF files. Enable
auto-rotation to get a fresh wallpaper on every new tab.

• Live video backgrounds — search Pixabay for ambient video
loops, or upload your own MP4/WebM files for a true live
wallpaper experience. Auto-rotation works here too.

• Overlay controls — fine-tune background opacity (0–90%) and
blur (0–30px) to keep your boards readable over any wallpaper.

LIQUID GLASS
────────────────────

ZenR ships with a full glass-rendering engine for card surfaces.
Every parameter is live-editable from the Settings panel:

• Backdrop blur and density
• Saturation, brightness, and refraction
• Rim glow, edge shimmer, shadow depth
• Glass tint color and tint intensity
• Corner boost

All values can be reset to defaults at any time.

WIDGETS

Clock & Date — Five display styles (Glass Card, Minimal, Neon
Glow, Retro Digital, Bold Centered), 12/24-hour toggle, optional
seconds display, and a size scale control.

Notes — A floating, draggable notepad that persists across
sessions. Supports plain text and inline images.

Calculator — A full calculator widget with an optional
calculation history log. Resizable and closeable without losing
state.

Search Bar — Supports Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Ecosia,
and Startpage. Features live suggestions, configurable width
(240–680px), open-in-new-tab toggle, and a compact mode. The
active engine is shown as a logo pill and can be cycled with a
single click.

BOOKMARKS
────────────────────

Import directly from your browser's bookmark tree, or restore
from a previously exported ZenR JSON file. Export your entire
setup at any time to back up or transfer between devices. Enable
Auto-sync to re-import browser bookmarks automatically on every
new tab.

PRIVACY
────────────────────

ZenR does not collect, share, or transmit any personal data.
Everything — your bookmarks, boards, settings, and wallpapers —
is stored locally in your browser using the standard Firefox
storage API. The only outbound connections ZenR ever makes are
the ones you explicitly trigger: a Pixabay image or video search
using your own API key, or a search engine query you submit
through the Search Bar widget. No analytics. No tracking.
No accounts required.
