Webnovel Context Translate is designed to solve the biggest problem with AI-translated webnovels: inconsistent character names and shifting pronouns.

The extension builds a local "memory" (glossary) for each novel you read. It automatically extracts and saves character names, their genders, and special terms in the background. When translating the next chapter, it injects this exact context into the AI prompt, ensuring the translation remains accurate and consistent from chapter 1 to 1000.

• Persistent Context Memory: Automatically remembers who is who, preventing characters from suddenly changing gender or names halfway through the story.
• Bring Your Own AI: Connects to any OpenAI-compatible API (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Local LLMs via LM Studio/Ollama) using your own API key.
• Customizable Glossary: Full control over the extracted context. Open the extension options to manually edit, add, or fix character names and terms at any time.
• Privacy First: Your API keys and novel glossaries are stored strictly locally on your device. No data is sent to third-party servers other than the AI provider you explicitly configure.
• Seamless Reading: Translates the webpage directly in place without breaking the website's layout.

How to use:

1. Enter your API key and preferred model in the extension options.
2. Open any webnovel chapter.
3. Click the extension icon or use the shortcut (Alt+Shift+T) to translate the page.
4. The extension translates the text while simultaneously extracting new context in the background for future chapters.
