Smart Auto Refresh — Niki

Smart Auto Refresh automatically reloads web pages and tabs at customizable intervals. Features intelligent active-tab pausing so reloads never interrupt your work, hard reload (cache bypass), and advanced per-URL pattern matching rules.

Key Features

• Smart Active-Tab Pause: Timers freeze automatically when a tab is focused or while you are actively viewing it, preventing unexpected form wipes or interruptions. The countdown resumes seamlessly when you switch away.
• Hard Reload (Bypass Cache): Force fresh content directly from the server—essential for tracking real-time dashboards, development servers, and auctions.
• Advanced URL Rule Engine: Automatically arm reload timers based on URL patterns:
  • Exact URL match
  • Domain & Subdomain matching
  • Prefix matching
  • Wildcard patterns ("*" and "?")
  • Regular Expressions (Regex)
• Automatic Startup: Saved rules automatically activate and start counting down whenever a matching URL opens in a new tab or window. Set it once and forget it.
• Options & Rule Manager: Dedicated dashboard to create, toggle, edit, filter, search, and import/export your rule lists as JSON.
• Native Countdown Badges: High-contrast, color-coded toolbar badges display remaining seconds directly on the icon (Emerald = active countdown, Amber = paused).
• 100% Offline & Private: Zero telemetry, zero analytics, zero external scripts. Operates completely locally in your browser.

Common Use Cases

• Monitoring live dashboards, tickers, auction sites, and queue trackers.
• Web development and testing live server deployments.
• Keeping internal corporate web portals, monitoring tools, or ticketing queues up to date.
• Kiosk setups and digital displays requiring periodic content refresh.
