Moodle Docs Viewer lets you view Word documents (.docx) directly in your browser when using Moodle, without downloading them to your computer first.

The Problem

When you click on a Word document in Moodle, it typically downloads to your computer, requiring you to open it with Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or another application. This is slow, clutters your downloads folder, and can be frustrating when you just want to quickly preview a syllabus, assignment instructions, or course reading.

The Solution

This extension intercepts clicks on .docx files in Moodle and opens them in a clean, built-in document viewer right in your browser. The document is fetched using your existing Moodle session, so it works seamlessly with your logged-in account—no extra authentication needed.

How It Works

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Documents are processed entirely within your browser and cleared from temporary storage after viewing.
