LocalKey — WebTech

LocalKey is a software passkey authenticator and password manager that runs entirely on your local machine — no cloud, no hardware required.

What this extension does:
🔐 Password Autofill — Detects login forms and fills your username and password automatically using credentials stored in your local encrypted vault.

🛡️ Passkey / WebAuthn Interception — Intercepts navigator.credentials.create and navigator.credentials.get calls, delegating cryptographic signing to the LocalKey desktop app. Sites that require passkeys (GitHub, Google, etc.) receive a valid WebAuthn response without needing a YubiKey, fingerprint reader, or Windows Hello.

🔒 100% Offline — No data ever leaves your machine. The extension communicates exclusively with the LocalKey desktop app on your own computer via Native Messaging (stdio). No servers, no telemetry, no accounts.

Requirements: The LocalKey desktop application must be installed and running. Download it free from GitHub (link in support website).

Supported platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux (including Flatpak sandboxes).
