lineitem matches your YNAB transactions to your Amazon and Target orders and splits each charge into the right budget categories — automatically, from the actual items in each order.

One order is never one category. A single Amazon or Target charge might cover groceries, household supplies, a birthday gift, and a phone cable — but in YNAB it lands as one lump payment. lineitem reads the real line items in your order and splits the transaction across your budget categories to match, line by line, instead of dropping the whole charge into one catch-all category.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Connect your YNAB budget with a secure sign-in. lineitem never sees your YNAB password.
2. lineitem finds the YNAB transactions from Amazon and Target that still need categorizing.
3. It reads the matching order from your account and proposes a split based on what you actually bought.
4. You review and approve. Nothing is written to YNAB until you approve it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your order details are read and matched on your own device. lineitem does not send your Amazon or Target purchase history to any outside server. The only information that leaves your device is what's needed to sync with YNAB — reading and writing your own transactions — and, if you choose to send feedback, your message.
