GitLab API Helper — Duncan

GitLab API Helper shows you GitLab REST API endpoints relevant to the page you are looking at so you can quickly query the API without hand-building queries.

Features

• Detects the current page type and lists matching API endpoints
• Click any endpoint to fetch and view the JSON response in the popup
• Copy endpoint URLs to your clipboard for use in scripts or tools like curl
• Add your own custom endpoints using placeholders such as {projectId}, {groupId}, {mergeRequestId}, {issueId}, {pipelineId}, {commitSha}, and {branchName}
• Works with GitLab.com out of the box; add self-managed instances (including wildcard patterns like https://*.example.com) in the extension options
• Supports Firefox container tabs, so each container uses its own GitLab session

Read-only by design
The extension generates URLs which the browser GETs. This is a debugging tool, not an API client.

Privacy
All API requests reuse your existing GitLab browser session. No tokens are stored, no data is collected, and nothing is sent anywhere other than the GitLab instance you are viewing. Everything runs entirely inside your browser.

Permissions

• cookies / contextualIdentities: use your GitLab login, per container
• activeTab / scripting: read the page to detect the resource being viewed
• storage: save custom endpoints and instance list
• Optional host access: only requested for self-managed instances you add yourself
