1. Introduction
   CVMama Copilot is a browser extension that compares job listings you view on supported job boards and career pages against your career profile, generates a match score and gap analysis, helps you tailor your resume for specific roles, and provides an application tracker to organize your job search. This policy applies to the extension, our website, and any related CVMama services (collectively, the "Service").

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not install or use the Service. We may update this policy from time to time; see Section 13 for how we'll notify you of material changes.

1. Information We Collect
   We collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Account information
Name and email address used to create your CVMama account
Password (stored in hashed, encrypted form — we never store it in plain text)
Billing information for paid plans, processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers)
2.2 Career profile data
Resume and CV content you upload, including work history, education, skills, and certifications
Career preferences such as desired role, location, and salary expectations, where you choose to provide them
Any additional profile details you enter manually
2.3 Job listing & usage data
Details of job postings you view and match against, including title, company, location, and description text
Match scores, gap analyses, and tailored resume versions generated for those postings
Application tracker data — stages, notes, and dates you record
General product usage data, such as which features you use and how often
2.4 Technical data
Browser type and version, operating system, and device identifiers
IP address and approximate location derived from it
Log data such as timestamps and error reports, used for troubleshooting and security
We do not collect your general browsing history, activity on non-job-related websites, or content from pages outside of recognized job listings.

1. How We Use Your Information
   We use the information above to:

Generate match scores and gap analyses by comparing your profile against job listings
Produce tailored resume versions for specific roles at your request
Power your application tracker, including table and Kanban views
Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and fixing bugs
Communicate with you about your account, updates, and — where you've opted in — product news
Process payments and manage subscriptions
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your resume or profile data to place ads, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

1. AI & Automated Processing
   Match scoring, gap analysis, and resume tailoring are powered by artificial intelligence models. When you view a job listing on a supported site, the posting content and relevant parts of your career profile are sent to our AI processing systems — which may include third-party AI model providers operating under contractual confidentiality and data-use restrictions — solely to generate the match analysis or tailored resume you requested.

We do not permit our AI providers to use your data to train their general-purpose models. Tailored resumes are generated based only on information already present in your profile; the AI does not invent credentials, experience, or qualifications you have not provided.

1. Browser Extension Permissions
   The CVMama Copilot browser extension requests a limited set of permissions, each used only for the purpose described:

Read content on job listing pages Extract job title, company, location, and description to generate your match score
Active tab access Display the match score panel on the page you're currently viewing
Storage Save your profile, preferences, and match history locally and sync with your account
The extension does not request or use permissions to read pages outside supported job sites, access your webcam or microphone, or monitor other browser tabs.

1. How We Share Information
   We share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers — companies that help us operate the Service, such as cloud hosting, AI processing, payment processing, and customer support tools, bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations
Team & coaching connections — if you explicitly invite a career coach or team member to view your profile or tracker under an Enterprise account, as described in our product
Legal requirements — where required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a comparable one
With your consent — for any other purpose you explicitly agree to
We never share your resume or profile directly with employers or job boards. Applying to a job is always an action you take yourself.

1. Cookies & Similar Technologies
   Our website and account dashboard use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand aggregate usage of the Service. The browser extension uses local storage rather than traditional cookies to keep your data available offline and sync it with your account. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect parts of the Service.
2. Data Retention
   We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific items — such as a tailored resume or tracked application — they are removed from active systems, though backups may persist for a limited period before being purged. If you delete your account entirely, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or security purposes.
3. Security
   We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls limiting who within CVMama can view your data, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Your Rights & Choices
   Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Delete your data or your account
Export your data in a portable format
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
You can exercise most of these rights directly from Account Settings > Privacy within the product. For anything else, email privacy@cvmama.com and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

1. International Data Transfers
   CVMama is built with a global user base in mind. Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your own country, including in jurisdictions with different data protection laws. Where we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law to protect it.
2. Children's Privacy
   The Service is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
3. Changes to This Policy
   We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through a notice within the extension before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
