Normal, comprehensive adblocking methods often break when a website makes changes. BlankTwitchAds is meant to be a last resort blocking solution: it does not allow you to skip the video ad, it only stops it from displaying, but it is simple and written to be resistant to breaking changes.

Currently works by checking every 1 second for span elements containing text that matches the regex of an ad countdown timer, and muting and hiding video elements on the page if it finds any, otherwise showing and unmuting. Mute status is checked beforehand so if the video was muted to begin with it will stay muted after the ad concludes. Elements that have text in their attributes that indicates being part of the chat are not considered.
