Lineage Tab Groups Autor: pagdot

Lineage Tab Groups keeps related tabs together. Every tab opened from another tab (link click, Ctrl+click, middle-click, window.open) is placed in the same tab group as the tab that opened it if it is already in a group. Both are placed together in a new tab group otherwise.

Tabs with no opener (Ctrl+T, session restore, a new window) are never touched, and pinned tabs are never moved into a group. Tabs opened from a pinned tab are instead grouped with their siblings. A Group now button in the options panel applies the same rule to tabs that are already open, collapsing opener chains into a single group.

This extension is based on New Tab Same Group and inspired by Tree Style Tab. The Icon is based on Firefox Kit with tab groups.

• A tab opened from a link (Ctrl+click, middle-click, open in new tab) is grouped with the tab the link was clicked from
• If that source tab isn't in a group yet, a new group is created containing both the source tab and the new tab
• New groups are named after the initial tab
• Pinned tabs are excluded: a pinned tab is never put into a group, and a pinned opener is never dragged into a new one. Instead, the new tab joins a group with the other (unpinned) tabs that were opened from that same pinned tab (a group is created when none exists yet)
• Tabs opened without a source (Ctrl+T, session restore, new window) are left outside any group
• Group now button in the options panel: one click moves every already-open tab in the window into the group of the tab that opened it (a group is created when the opener isn't grouped yet; tabs opened from a pinned opener are grouped with their siblings)
• Zero tracking
• Works with both classic horizontal tabs and vertical as well
