The API key is stored in the browser's extension storage and is sent to OMDb only when required to make an OMDb request. QuickCard does not send the key to the extension developer.
Users are responsible for obtaining and managing their own OMDb API key under OMDb's applicable terms.
3. Third-Party Services
QuickCard retrieves requested information from external services. Depending on the requested item and enabled features, a query or identifier may be sent to services such as:IMDb
OMDb
TVmaze
Wikidata and related Wikimedia services
Google Suggestions, when the optional suggestion feature is enabled
MyMemory Translation, when translation is required
These services may receive technical information normally included in an internet request, such as:The search query or relevant identifier
The user's IP address
Browser and network request information
The date and time of the request
This information is processed according to each provider's own privacy policy and terms. QuickCard does not control the data-handling practices of third-party services.
No search query is sent to a service unless that service is needed for the requested feature, except for optional features explicitly enabled by the user.
4. Multilingual Search and Translation
QuickCard supports multilingual searches. If selected text is not in English, the extension may send that text to its translation service before performing a search.
Only the text needed for translation is sent. The full webpage is not sent for translation.
The translated text and original text may both be displayed in the result interface. Translation accuracy and data handling depend on the third-party translation provider.
Users can disable translation-related features through the extension settings where available.
5. Optional Google Suggestions
QuickCard may use Google Suggestions to display possible search completions.
This feature is optional and can be disabled in the extension settings. When enabled, text entered into the relevant search field may be sent to Google's suggestion service to retrieve suggestions.
Google processes those requests according to its own privacy policy.
6. Custom Links and External Websites
QuickCard can display links to third-party websites, including streaming services, review and rating sites, databases, anime services, social profiles, search pages, and official websites.
Users may also create custom buttons using their own URL templates.
When a user opens one of these links, the destination website may receive:The title, name, or search term included in the URL
The user's IP address
Browser and request information
Any information normally received when visiting that website
The destination site's own privacy policy applies after the link is opened.
QuickCard is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or privacy practices of external websites.
7. Browser Permissions
QuickCard requests only the browser permissions required to provide its features.
