This extension helps you organize your bookmarks using AI. When you save a page, it automatically generates relevant tags based on the content.

What it Does 🤔

AI Tagging: Click the button to save a page. The extension reads the content (using Readability.js) and asks an AI (Gemini or OpenAI) to suggest 2-5 tags.
Tag Storage (URL Method): Tags are added to the bookmark's URL like ?tag=example&tag=another. This is a workaround because Firefox doesn't currently sync native bookmark tags well across devices.
Your Choice of AI: Pick between Google's Gemini or OpenAI in the options.
API Key: You'll need to provide your own API key (it's stored locally).
Custom Prompt: You can tell the AI exactly how you want your tags generated by editing the prompt in the options.
Dedicated Folder: All tagged bookmarks go into a folder named "Bookmark-Tagger".
Screenshots 📸: A small screenshot of the page is saved locally so you can recognize it easily in the viewer.
Built-in Viewer:
- A separate page to see all your tagged bookmarks.
- Choose between a Table view or a Gallery view.
- Search by title, URL, or tag.
- Filter by one or more tags, or by website domain.
- Sort by date or title in the table.
Bookmark Management 🛠️:
- Edit or remove tags on existing bookmarks.
- Archive items (hides them by adding an "archive" tag).
- Delete bookmarks.
- Select multiple bookmarks in the table view to delete or add tags in bulk.
Duplicate Check: It won't save the same URL (ignoring tags) twice in the target folder.

How to Use It 🖱️

On a page you want to save, click the extension icon.
It extracts the page content.
It sends the content to the AI you selected, using your prompt.
The AI sends back tags.
The bookmark is saved to the "Bookmark-Tagger" folder (with tags in the URL) and a screenshot is taken.
Use the viewer (link in the popup) to see and manage your tagged bookmarks.

Setup Needed ⚙️

You need an API key for either Gemini (Google AI Studio) or OpenAI. Links are in the options page.
Go to the extension's options page to add your key and customize the prompt if you like.

Known Issues ⚠️

Tag Sync: As mentioned, tags stored in the URL are a workaround for Firefox sync limitations. Native tags wouldn't sync reliably.
Content Extraction: Success depends heavily on Readability.js (developped by Mozilla) and the website's structure. It might struggle with very dynamic/JavaScript-heavy pages or sites with unusual layouts.
AI Tag Quality: Tag relevance depends on the AI provider, your custom prompt, and the quality/clarity of the extracted content. Sometimes tags might be generic or miss the main point.
Screenshots: Capture can sometimes fail if the tab isn't fully loaded, visible, or if the page content prevents it (e.g., certain video players, complex canvases). The screenshots aren't sync between devices (sync limitation)
