Sobre esta extensão
ProxyTab is a Proxy Manager and Switcher for Chrome. Add several proxies in one place. Set a default. Then pick which one each site goes through. Switch in one click from the toolbar.
— What it does —
Most proxy extensions force every site through one proxy. ProxyTab lets you route by site:
The toolbar icon glows green when the current site is routed through a proxy, amber when it goes direct. Click the icon and a dropdown lets you switch the current site's proxy in one click, or hit the Bypass button to send it direct.
— Supported proxy types (pick whichever is easiest) —
✓ SOCKS5: any host and port, with optional username and password.
✓ HTTP / HTTPS proxy: Squid, corporate gateways, commercial endpoints.
✓ SSH server: the setup wizard generates the ssh -D command for you.
✓ Tailscale: free, runs SOCKS5 on 127.0.0.1:1055 out of the box.
✓ Cloudflare WARP: free, runs SOCKS5 on 127.0.0.1:40000 in proxy mode.
✓ WireGuard: bridged to SOCKS5 by wireproxy. One line installer for Mac and Linux.
✓ Custom: free form scheme, host, port, and auth for anything else.
— Built for —
• Anyone managing several social accounts. Different Chrome profiles, different exit IPs, no cross account flags.
• Region locked content. Set up proxies in multiple regions and pick per site which one applies.
• Privacy. Route the sites you care about through your own server. Your ISP sees one quiet connection.
• Developers. Test how your app behaves from another country, or route a single Chrome profile through a corporate proxy without touching the rest of your machine.
— Privacy by design —
✓ No telemetry. No analytics. No pings home.
✓ No accounts. No backend. No signup. We don't run any servers.
✓ Credentials stay in chrome.storage.local. They never leave your machine.
✓ Inactive until you add a proxy. Uninstall and no trace is left behind.
— Permissions —
• proxy: configures Chrome's proxy settings for this profile.
• storage: saves your proxies and rules locally.
• tabs: reads the active tab's URL so the popup and icon can show its routing state.
• webRequest and webRequestAuthProvider: supplies your saved username and password when a proxy requires auth, so Chrome doesn't prompt on every page.
