I will normally have a physical copy in hand and pull up the web version and have Read Aloud running at 1.5x I have to read a lot by virtue of my interests and this helps, but it is certainly more useful for articles and uninterrupted prose like fiction.
I read tech/programming books. I wasn't expecting this to do a good job reading all the symbols and concatenated words but it does a relatively decent job. Some symbols are ignored or not read correctly but that's to be expected.
What's annoying is that the parser for this extension frequently skips single sentences or footnotes that are in between two larger paragraphs. So like if you have one paragraph then a sentence from the next paragraph followed by a diagram then the rest of the paragraph Read Aloud will skip straight from the first paragraph to the larger chunk of the second paragraph. sometimes the skipped part is important so i find myself pausing and rewinding frequently to make sure i got everything. It's jarring when you have a book in hand and read and hear two different things.
Feature suggestion: Consider highlighting the text that is already on the page by default. And having the option to use the modal if the page has funky formatting or something. Is there any reason why you can't just manipulate the DOM to highlight & scroll the words that are already on the page?

Got to new page, click few buttons, come back and then reload your page. REALLY??? - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Firefox user 18273814, 10 dni temu

it just simply ridiculous guys. Is this a joke or somehting? It's probably my fault, but this sounds 10 times worse as stephen hawking. Or maybe like one of Edison's first phonograph recordings Mawawary hawawad alala liwiwiwttle lawawawam. Come on.. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: honza1616, 19 dni temuIn my language (Czech), it's like listening to a robot. Try the Edge browser, it has the reader already installed and it's perfect.

I gave it the permissions it needed when I ran it the first time so why do I have to give it additional permissions every day I run it? I want it to be given all the permissions it needs to run and make that permanent. Instead, you have to go through a tedious rigmerole of opening a webpage, scrolling down and clicking on a speak button, then tick a box saying you are not a robot EVERY TIME you use it! No! I won't do that.

Specifically, when the Bengali voice reads out English phrases containing numbers, the pronunciation of those numerical values is inaccurate.
For example, when the Bengali voice reads '24 hours', it pronounces it as 'chabbish (২৪) hours', where 'chabbish' is the direct Bengali pronunciation of the number '24', rather than the proper English pronunciation.
This problem seems to occur consistently across all numerical values when using the Google Translate Bengali voice. I was hoping you could provide guidance on how this numerical pronunciation accuracy could be improved within the Bengali voice feature. Having the Bengali voice deliver the correct English pronunciations for numbers would greatly help me. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: jjpatricio, miesiąc temu
