postet 25 dager sidenI'm sorry to hear that happened. It may be an ad block preventing the loading of the video, but it's hard to say without knowing which website. Can you share please at help.malwarebytes.com?

Today, it blocked literally every website I had open, and then closed them all when I removed the extension. I usually keep a lot of tabs open for research, and now I'm going to have to look up hundreds of items from scratch.

postet 6 dager sidenI’m sorry you lost hundreds of tabs. That is so frustrating. Unfortunately, Browser Guard incorrectly blocked some legitimate sites because we had a database update that caused a false positive.
An automatic fix was deployed shortly after the false positive was flagged. We've also put in additional guardrails to prevent false positives like this from occuring again in the future.
This was actually fixed over 10 days ago, so it's a bit odd that you saw it 2 days ago.

c'est pas sérieux.

postet 12 dager sidenGood call out! This is unfortunately due to a new feature by Google where the full URL is hidden from us. The black icon indicates it is un-scannable by us.
We have identified a way around this and this will be fixed in a future version update. - Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av ma, 16 dager sidenNice intention but too many websites just don't work properly when activated. Especially the Ad/Tracker Blocker practically disables browsing.
Utviklerrespons
postet 16 dager sidenAds/Tracker blocking in general can interfere with sites that are aggressively trying to show ads. That said, it would be interesting to know which sites are giving extra issues, in case there's a bug on our side.
If possible can you reach out via the chatbot on help.malwarebytes.com to share more details, please? - Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av AC⚡️DC, 17 dager sidenMate, no other add-on stuffs up as much as this one. Today 50 of me tabs got blocked; I could only remember about ten off the top of me head – the rest are gone for good. That’s why I’m chuckin’ it today; the risk’s way too high. A couple of times a year somethin’ goes pear-shaped, so I gotta switch the add-on off. I’ve had a bloody gutful now!

postet 16 dager sidenI’m sorry you lost your 50 of your tabs, truly frustrating. Totally understand chucking it.
The fix for this is already live. We’re also putting in additional guardrails to prevent false positives like this in the future.
Hopefully we can gain back your trust at a future time. - Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av Promestein, 17 dager sidenyep nice .. every single website was blocked on my tab. I googled to look how to unblock everything with one click and did everything, even checked for database updates and nothing worked ... everything is still blocked .. had to manually unblock everything .. thank you very much for this work. Something that blocks everything out of the blue is the last thing someone wants.

I’m sorry we caused you to have to manually refectify it.

What's wrong with reddit and google searches? And it didn't just block them, 80% of them couldn't be rewound so I lost most of my groups. Seriously, quality check your updates for crying out loud.

It blocked every single tab I had, even the pinned ones. The version was last updated Sept 30, 2026 (today is Oct 1st). It was working all day and then out of the blue it blocked every single tab. What a mess.

postet 17 dager sidenHi Jayling – This is frustrating, and we feel your pain. Unfortunately, Browser Guard incorrectly blocked some legitimate sites today because we had a database update that caused a false positive.
To note, v3.3.6 is totally fine, it was a database update that has since been reverted. - Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av a lab rat, 17 dager sidenThe latest update blocks the Malwarebytes website itself as unsafe. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

If you want to speak to a human ASAP, you can ask the bot to connect with an agent and it will do so immediately. Hopefully we can gain back your trust. - Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av Kaisuka, 17 dager sidenRoll back the update. I don't know what idiot authorized this latest update but it's completely broken web browsing. Github wont load the landing page properly and it's just a bunch of text on the left side of the screen and several websites I frequent are being blocked now as "scam" sites, when they arent. In fact I can't get "scammed" anyways because I have an ad-blocker. Roll it back, undo this disaster.
Edit: Disabling the plugin until this is fixed.Utviklerrespons

An automatic fix is already underway via a database update. If you’d like to fix this manually, click the Browser Guard extension → Support → Check for DB Updates to make sure you have the latest database. - Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 20204817, 17 dager sidenAbsolutely trash. Addon decided everything was malicious and crashed the browser causing every tab and tab group to be lost.

Only allows going on Google, surprisingly. Can only go on websites by disabling the addon. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly.

postet 17 dager sidenTo be clear the Firefox version of Browser Guard has zero telemetry gathering.
Regarding the optional options, it is true in 3.3.6 we have enabled the Search Results Reputation feature for all users when it was optional for users before.

- Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 18208822, én måned sidenSince it runs in the background, I really don't know what it's doing. But on more than one occasion it has blocked potential malware. It has popped up a notification on the screen advising not to go to that link. It does exactly what I want it to do.

- Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av Goofy3696, én måned sidenI know that the company Malwarebytes has been around for quite some time and that the company name is a play on words. What I am going to say that the product(s) this company produces,as a whole, "BITES!!" I am running Windows 10-Pro 64-bit. From the website filehippo.com. I downloaded the trial of their software. Well, that was quickly uninstalled when it was detecting regular software as PUPs and putting them into quarantine. Not only that it was causing my PC to become unstable. After doing a total uninstall and removing any leftovers in the Registry, my PC returned to normal This is when I found their browser extension. After the extension started causing Firefox to become as steady as a one-legged man walking a tightrope, I understood why there is a warning at the top of the download page that reads as follows. "This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla." I was getting errors that I NEVER received prior to installing the extension. This extension stopped me from accessing my GMAIL, eBay, Amazon, and Walmart accounts on more than one occasion. While surfing those sites, I will get the pop-up window stating that the website could be harmful. Webpages would not fully load, or if they did load, it was only the text and not the interactive HTML. Lastly, it would make the browser act like it was running at dial-up speeds. Well, guess what. Just like with my installing the software for my PC, uninstalling the extension from my Firefox browser, it returned it to normal. There are other products out there that do the same thing, if not better and will not give you migraines while using them.

postet én måned sidenI'm sorry to hear that, but I did appreciate the play on words you made :).
These are certainly some severe issues you encountered, and it's probably a long-shot but perhaps you can share more details at https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/254-firefox/ ?
I'm curious about:
- Hardware details (Ram, CPU, GPU etc.)
- Firefox version info
- Any other add-ons installed that could be creating a conflict
