About this extension
Unplug — Take back control of your attention.
Unplug is a free, open-source distraction and clickbait blocker for YouTube, Reddit, X (Twitter), and beyond.
You're not trying to quit the internet. You just don't need the algorithm feeding you recommended videos, Shorts, trending topics, clickbait, and engagement bait every time you open a page.
Unplug removes the distractions, not the websites. Toggle off the parts you don't want. Keep the parts you actually use.
YOUTUBE — Watch what you came for
- Hide homepage recommendations, Shorts, and the "Up next" sidebar.
- Redirect Shorts links to the normal video player.
- Disable autoplay, end cards, and end-of-video recommendations.
- Filter clickbait titles with adjustable sensitivity.
- Turn thumbnails grayscale to reduce their visual pull.
REDDIT — Read without the noise
- Hide the home feed, promoted posts, trending carousels, and login walls.
- Remove vote, reply, and share buttons.
- Collapse nested comments to focus on top-level discussions.
X / TWITTER — Your feed, your choice
- Stay on Following instead of the algorithmic For You feed.
- Hide trending topics, suggested accounts, and Premium promotions.
- Remove engagement counts, replies, and unwanted navigation elements.
ANY WEBSITE — Hide what the toggles miss
See something distracting? Use the built-in element picker to point, click, and hide unwanted page elements. Your custom rules persist across visits.
No complicated filters or coding required.
PRIVACY FIRST
- No accounts or sign-ups.
- No tracking or analytics.
- No external servers.
- Your settings stay in your browser.
- Free and open-source.
