SnapLink Privacy Policy

SnapLink does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What data is stored locally:
- A randomly generated room ID and encryption key are stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). These never leave your device except through the QR code displayed in the extension popup.
- Message history is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to any external server.

What the relay server sees:
- The relay server receives encrypted messages only. All content is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device before transmission. The server cannot decrypt or read any message content.
- The server does not log messages, IP addresses, or any user activity.
- The server does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind.

No accounts: SnapLink does not require registration, login, or any form of user account.

Third-party services:
- QR code generation uses the qrserver.com API (only the room ID and public URL are sent — the encryption key is in the URL fragment and is never transmitted).
- The relay server is hosted on Render.com.
