RockStart replaces your new tab page with a calm start page. Your own browser bookmarks sit in an Arc-style sidebar, with live dots on links that are already open.

What you get
- Bookmarks sidebar: your browser's bookmarks as folders. Reorder, nest and edit them by drag or keyboard. Changes go straight to Firefox's own bookmarks.
- Pins and open tabs: pin your favourite sites, and see a card for each open tab with a live dot (and an equalizer when it plays sound).
- Smart search: click the search box to see your most visited sites. As you type, it suggests matches from your pins, most visited sites and bookmarks.
- Flip clock and to-do list: the to-do list syncs through your Firefox account.
- GitHub at a glance (optional): your assigned pull requests, review requests and issues, using a personal access token you provide.
- Backgrounds: Bing daily, Wikimedia, Picsum photos, The Met's open-access art, a link or your own upload, in light or dark.
- Keyboard first: a shortcut for every section (press ? to list them), arrow-key navigation and screen-reader support.

Privacy
No ads, no analytics, no accounts, no servers. RockStart makes no network requests unless you turn on a wallpaper source or GitHub. Pins, tasks and settings are kept in Firefox's extension storage and synced by Firefox Sync if you use it.

Permissions
- Bookmarks: show and edit your bookmarks in the sidebar.
- Tabs: show which links are open.
- Search: send what you type to your default search engine.
- Most visited sites: suggest them in the search box.
- Storage: save your pins, tasks and settings.

Needs Firefox 140 or newer. Firefox does not offer site icons to extensions, so bookmarks show icons for sites you have had open, and a letter tile for the others.
