1. Accepting these Terms
By installing, enabling, or using the Add-on after these Terms have been made available to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Add-on.
These Terms apply to the Add-on, its documentation, and its updates. They do not govern any website, application, browser, extension store, or other product or service used with the Add-on. Those products and services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer, statutory, or store-provided right that cannot legally be removed.
2. Permission to use the Add-on
Subject to these Terms, JW PubMedia One grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use an authorized copy of the Add-on for lawful purposes.
You may use the Add-on's available features and create outputs such as links, citations, copied text, QR codes, transcripts, and downloaded images. Your use remains subject to applicable law and the rights and terms that apply to the underlying content.
The Add-on is licensed, not sold. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Add-on or of any website, application, publication, media, trademark, or other content. Mandatory extension-store rights continue to apply where these Terms cannot reduce them.
3. Ownership and third-party components
The portions of the Add-on owned by JW PubMedia One remain its property and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Rights not expressly granted by these Terms are reserved.
The Add-on includes third-party software components governed by their own licenses and notices. Those separate terms control for the applicable component if they conflict with these Terms. These Terms do not remove a right granted, or an obligation imposed, by a third-party license.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Add-on to:
- copy, modify, repackage, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit JW PubMedia One-owned portions of the Add-on except as permitted by law, a separate license, or written authorization;
- bypass authentication, access controls, security measures, rate limits, regional controls, or other protections, or obtain unauthorized access to an account, protected content, private record, website, application, device, or service;
- introduce malicious code, interfere with another system, or perform unauthorized scraping, bulk retrieval, or automated requests that impose an unreasonable load; or
- act unlawfully, infringe another person's rights, invade privacy, or falsely present the Add-on as officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by another organization.
These restrictions address misuse of the Add-on. They do not restrict a right independently provided by applicable law, a content owner, or a separate software license.
5. Other services, content, and outputs
The Add-on works with and depends on websites, applications, browsers, extension stores, and content servers that JW PubMedia One does not control. JW PubMedia One cannot promise their availability, accuracy, security, compatibility, policies, or continued operation.
Your use of another service or its content remains subject to the terms, privacy practices, and rights that apply to it. The Add-on's ability to copy, display, transform, link to, or download content does not grant additional rights in that content.
You decide what Add-on output to copy, download, open, use, or share. Review important information and generated output before relying on or sharing it. Once an output is placed on the clipboard, saved to a file, opened in another application, or sent to a destination you choose, you and the relevant browser, operating system, application, website, or recipient control it.
6. Updates and availability
An extension store can deliver Add-on updates automatically under its settings and terms. Updates can include security fixes, compatibility changes, feature additions, feature removals, or other changes.
The Add-on depends on browsers, websites, applications, Internet resources, and extension stores that can change or become unavailable. A feature may not work on every browser, platform, device, page, or version. JW PubMedia One does not promise that the Add-on or every feature will always remain available, compatible, uninterrupted, or unchanged.
JW PubMedia One may stop maintaining or distributing the Add-on or a feature where permitted by law. Removing the Add-on from future store distribution does not by itself terminate rights preserved for an existing user by applicable law or store terms, although continued operation and support cannot be guaranteed.
7. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains the Add-on's information access, local processing, local storage, server requests, recipients, retention, feature controls, permissions, and deletion choices.
These Terms do not provide consent for information handling or authorize practices beyond those accurately disclosed in the Privacy Policy and permitted by applicable law and mandatory extension-store terms.
8. Ending use and termination
You can stop using the Add-on at any time by disabling or uninstalling it.
Your permission to use the Add-on can end if you materially breach these Terms and do not correct the breach within any notice or cure period required by law. After lawful termination, you must stop using and uninstall the Add-on.
Disabling or uninstalling the Add-on does not necessarily delete website storage, clipboard contents, downloaded files, browser caches, or other user-managed output. The Privacy Policy explains the available deletion choices.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Add-on is provided “as is” and “as available.” JW PubMedia One does not promise that the Add-on or its output will be error-free, uninterrupted, completely secure, current, accurate, or compatible with every website, browser, application, platform, device, or configuration.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JW PubMedia One will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Add-on.
These limitations do not apply where applicable law or a mandatory extension-store term does not permit them. Nothing in these Terms limits liability, remedies, consumer rights, or statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes and extension-store terms
JW PubMedia One may update these Terms when the Add-on, its distribution, legal requirements, or store terms change. An approved update will identify its effective date. We will provide additional notice or request acceptance where required by applicable law or mandatory extension-store terms.
The extension store through which you obtained the Add-on can impose additional mandatory terms. If these Terms conflict with a non-waivable law or mandatory store requirement, that law or requirement controls only to the extent of the conflict.
An Add-on software update does not by itself make revised Terms binding where another form of notice or acceptance is required.
11. General terms
If a provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms are the agreement between you and JW PubMedia One concerning installation and use of the Add-on, except where a separate written agreement expressly applies. The Privacy Policy remains the separate privacy notice, and third-party license notices remain the governing terms for their applicable components.
