Freeloader is built to protect your privacy, not exploit it. We do not have any servers, we do not run analytics, and we never collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. This policy explains exactly what data the extension does and does not handle, and the few cases where it contacts third parties to do its job.

What we DON'T do
We do not operate any server that receives your data.
We do not use analytics, tracking, telemetry, or advertising IDs.
We do not collect personal information (name, email, accounts, etc.).
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with anyone.
We do not build a profile of your browsing.
Data stored on your device only
The following is kept locally in your browser's extension storage and is never transmitted anywhere:

Your settings and feature toggles.
Your per-site allowlist (sites where you paused blocking).
Saved tab sessions you explicitly create (their titles and URLs).
Counters, such as the number of items blocked.
A cached copy of the ad/tracker filter lists.
You can erase all of it at any time by removing the extension.

Data transmitted to third parties (and why)
Freeloader is a functional privacy tool, so a few features must contact external services. These requests expose your IP address to those services (as any web request does), but send no personal data about you:

Filter-list updates. About once a day, the extension downloads ad and tracker blocklists from their public sources (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and HaGeZi via GitHub). This is a plain download; no information about you or the sites you visit is sent.

SponsorBlock (optional; on by default). When you watch a YouTube video with SponsorBlock enabled, the extension sends only the first 4 characters of a SHA-256 hash of the video ID to the SponsorBlock API (https://sponsor.ajay.app). This is a privacy-preserving lookup: the server receives roughly a hundred possible videos at once and cannot determine which video you are actually watching. No account, cookie, or identifier is attached. You can turn SponsorBlock off in the extension's popup, and no such request will be made.

We do not control these third parties. Their handling of the connection is governed by their own policies:

Downloads
When you use the experimental video saver, the extension fetches the media directly from the website you are already on, and saves it to your device using the browser's normal download function. Nothing is routed through us.

Permissions
Freeloader requests broad host access ("all sites") because an ad blocker must inspect and filter network requests and page content on every site to work. This access is used solely to provide the features described above and on the store page.

Children
Freeloader is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will accompany the corresponding extension release.
