Etyr v1.0.1 Release Notes
This release brings a massive visual overhaul to Etyr's onboarding and new-tab experience, alongside several quality-of-life settings tweaks and under-the-hood stability improvements for our dictionary and pronunciation engines!

New Features & Improvements
Completely Redesigned New Tab Experience: Replaced the static layout with a beautifully designed, minimalist Word of the Day interface. Discover a new curated word every time you open a tab!
Daily Streaks: Added a streak-tracking feature directly on the New Tab page to encourage daily vocabulary building.
Refreshed Landing Page: The main landing page has received a complete aesthetic upgrade for a lighter, bolder, and more premium feel.
Smarter Exclusions Management:
Popup Quick Toggle: You can now instantly disable Etyr on your current active website with a single toggle directly inside the extension popup's Settings tab.
Manual Entry: We've updated the main Options page so you can manually type in specific domains (e.g., google.com) you wish to exclude, replacing the old "Add current site" button which didn't make sense on internal extension pages.
Bug Fixes & Stability
AI Dictionary Fallback Stability: Fixed a bug where a network error from the HuggingFace AI provider would cause an unhandled exception and crash the dictionary lookup sequence.
New Tab Close Button Error: Fixed an issue where clicking the "Close" (X) button on the New Tab page resulted in a security error (Not allowed to load local resource). It now safely redirects to the browser's default blank new tab page.
Pronunciation Engine Reliability: Enhanced the TTS (Text-to-Speech) pipeline. If the Google TTS or Speecher fallbacks return a 404 or fail to load, the extension will now gracefully fall back to native speech synthesis without throwing unhandled promise rejections (especially noticeable on Linux systems).
