eftir SomeAB, fyrir 6 mánuðum síðanTL:DR - I personally find MS Zira voice with 75% speed, 100% pitch, to be good enough for most scenarios. Default settings sound horrible, but can be tweaked, that is what I mean.
Okay overall with all things considered, this is currently among the most easy to use TTS (Text to Speech) addons
Pros:
- Easy to use, works fine with a google translated page, easily identifies what you want to read
- You can use Google Wavenet, Amazon Polly & IBM Watson voices with it, if you have API access (all 3 of them have a free tier)
- Has a dark background pop-up that shows the text in a simple readable format alongside speech
Cons:
- Biggest con is that it doesn't use the new Microsoft voices that come with Windows Narrator. It only uses the old Zira, Adam, voices which are of lower quality.
- No way to add a custom Offline voice model. The option of 'Custom Voice is for the online APIs'
- I heard somewhere, that even in offline mode, it does uses some google apis, but haven't checked myself. Given it is recommended by Mozilla officially, I guess its alright for non-security scenarios.

Unfortunately I havent found anything else with a better voice. The option to change voices other then the first few dont work having you run a script that doesnt work and having you basically write your own code to make the others work.

Got to new page, click few buttons, come back and then reload your page. REALLY??? - Gefið 5 af 5eftir Firefox user 18273814, fyrir 16 dögum síðan

it just simply ridiculous guys. Is this a joke or somehting? It's probably my fault, but this sounds 10 times worse as stephen hawking. Or maybe like one of Edison's first phonograph recordings Mawawary hawawad alala liwiwiwttle lawawawam. I gave it the permissions it needed when I ran it the first time so why do I have to give it additional permissions every day I run it? I want it to be given all the permissions it needs to run and make that permanent. Instead, you have to go through a tedious rigmerole of opening a webpage, scrolling down and clicking on a speak button, then tick a box saying you are not a robot EVERY TIME you use it! No! I won't do that.

Specifically, when the Bengali voice reads out English phrases containing numbers, the pronunciation of those numerical values is inaccurate.
For example, when the Bengali voice reads '24 hours', it pronounces it as 'chabbish (২৪) hours', where 'chabbish' is the direct Bengali pronunciation of the number '24', rather than the proper English pronunciation.
This problem seems to occur consistently across all numerical values when using the Google Translate Bengali voice. I was hoping you could provide guidance on how this numerical pronunciation accuracy could be improved within the Bengali voice feature. Having the Bengali voice deliver the correct English pronunciations for numbers would greatly help me. - Gefið 5 af 5eftir jjpatricio, fyrir mánuði síðan
