per Firefox user 12148978, ien jier lynI've identified one significant problem using this add-on. That problem is that this add-on opens in a new window. It should simply open in a new tab, if it has to open a new anything at all. When an add-on opens a new window, if the user closes out the prior window with all his tabs, leaving the read aloud window open, it risks the danger of the user's prior session being wiped out, with all his tabs going with it, and when the user invokes Firefox again, all he gets is the window opened by read aloud. Unfortunately, my experience is that add-ons which claim to record and purportedly allow the reloading of prior sessions, meaning a set of tabs, simply do not work reliably when a new window has been opened.

I gave it the permissions it needed when I ran it the first time so why do I have to give it additional permissions every day I run it? I want it to be given all the permissions it needs to run and make that permanent. Instead, you have to go through a tedious rigmerole of opening a webpage, scrolling down and clicking on a speak button, then tick a box saying you are not a robot EVERY TIME you use it! No! I won't do that.

- Classificate 3 de 5per big boom, 9 dagen lynI've noticed an issue with the way the Google Translate Bengali voice feature pronounces numerical values in English. Specifically, when the Bengali voice reads out English phrases containing numbers, the pronunciation of those numerical values is inaccurate.
For example, when the Bengali voice reads '24 hours', it pronounces it as 'chabbish (২৪) hours', where 'chabbish' is the direct Bengali pronunciation of the number '24', rather than the proper English pronunciation.
This problem seems to occur consistently across all numerical values when using the Google Translate Bengali voice. I was hoping you could provide guidance on how this numerical pronunciation accuracy could be improved within the Bengali voice feature. Having the Bengali voice deliver the correct English pronunciations for numbers would greatly help me. - Classificate 5 de 5per jjpatricio, 11 dagen lyn

1. Detecting the text correctly, especially on websites where text is separated by other content or when there are multiple columns.
2. Often the reading out does not stop when click pause or stop, I have to close all Firefox windows to make the reading out stop. - Classificate 5 de 5per Federico Calzoni, ien moanne lynPiper's voices are really good. I really appreciate the automatic language selection.

The pause button does absolutely nothing ever, and the second time I tried the add on the highlighted text didn't match what was being read (no idea where in the document it was reading from) and this time I had to close the browser entirely to make it stop reading.

Edit: I tried out older versions and retried the new one and the problem went away. No idea what was causing it. I encountered another bug however with the new "Piper" feature, the extension was not able to load the manager page where you install the voices. It worked on Brave though (I use LibreWolf)
Edit2: Static sound problem came back. I decided to revert back and stay in version 1.66 No longer experience the issue on that version. - Classificate 5 de 5per stelgado, 2 moannen lynAdding the piper voices is a game changer!! Thank you Dev.
Initially, I was pretty unhappy with the robotic voices and decided to read the reviews and found the same complaints. Then I saw that there was an update a week ago and, lo and behold, you can now add custom voices from piper that sound so much more human. It's a night and day difference. Makes this so much more worth it now. Even though it's still in the experimental phase, it works just fine for me.
I urge everyone to try it out in settings. - Classificate 5 de 5per Firefox user 18349635, 2 moannen lyn
