SuperAlign Browser Extension Autor: SuperAlign

SuperAlign Browser Extension is part of the SuperAlign Surface platform, which
gives organisations visibility into how AI tools are used across their endpoints.

This extension requires the SuperAlign Surface agent to be installed and running
on the same computer. Without it, the extension does nothing. It has no
permission to reach any remote server — its only network destination is
127.0.0.1 on your own machine.

What it does

When you use a supported AI assistant in the browser, the extension captures the
prompt and response text and hands it to the local Surface agent over a loopback
HTTP connection. The agent adds it to your organisation's AI asset inventory.

Supported sites: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

What it collects

• Prompt and response text on the four sites listed above
• The account email or identifier for your session on those sites

Nothing is collected on any other site. The extension sends this data only to the
Surface agent running locally, which forwards it to your organisation's SuperAlign
deployment under your organisation's own data policies.

Who this is for

Organisations deploying SuperAlign Surface to their workforce. It is not useful as
a standalone add-on.

The "only talks to 127.0.0.1" point is worth leading with — it's verifiable from host_permissions in the manifest, and it's the single strongest thing you can say to a reviewer looking at an extension that reads prompt text.
