BookGlints helps you know what a book is really like before you commit to it.
Open a book on Goodreads, StoryGraph, or Royal Road and tell BookGlints what you want to find or avoid. It scans real reader reviews semantically — not just by keyword — and surfaces relevant excerpts so you can judge the evidence yourself.
BookGlints includes Native Local AI, which runs directly in Firefox and requires no API key. Review analysis stays in your browser.
You can look for almost anything:
Slow pacing or a weak middle
Love triangles or forced romance
Overpowered or self-insert protagonists
Found family
Morally gray characters
Dark themes or content concerns
Specific tropes, writing styles, character traits, or personal dealbreakers
Scan modes
My Flags — Write exactly what you want BookGlints to check for.
Auto-Scan — Automatically discovers notable recurring themes and patterns in reviews without requiring you to create flags first. Auto-Scan is available as a one-time $9.99 unlock.
Scan depths
Quick Scan — Fastest scan for a quick look.
Focused Scan — Prioritizes the strongest positive and negative reviews.
Full Scan — Recommended — Scans the widest mix of reviews for the most complete picture.
Real review evidence
BookGlints does not replace reviews with invented AI summaries. Results include genuine excerpts from the reviews it scanned, along with prevalence information showing how often a pattern appeared.
More features
Goodreads, StoryGraph, and Royal Road support
Find another book by title without leaving your current page
Batch scanning for reading lists
Import titles from supported lists
Scan history stored locally
Seven interface languages
Background scanning
Private by default
Native Local mode performs semantic analysis locally in Firefox and requires no external AI account or API key.

BookGlints has no user account requirement and does not track your browsing history.
Supported sites: Goodreads, StoryGraph, Royal Road
Free to use. Native Local AI included. Auto-Scan is an optional one-time $9.99 upgrade.
