They added that QR code that ruins the experience when converting the video. They should have always made the extension paid, not free, and then added the QR code. Used to be very helpful. Now it covers most of the video with a QR code. No longer usable.

Requires payment to remove watermark, as well as converting to audio.

I have no problem with wanting a license to avoid watermarks on some downloads (mainly Youtube AFAIK), but warning only AFTER the download is shady and stupid (is a lose-lose situation, nobody will buy after such a shady trick, and because buying the license will not remove the watermark, you have to download again)

Years ago used to work great. Since then began asking to install a software on your computer, to register and pay, or something else. Now the latest - supposedly downloads it but not as a file. Clicking "play" or "open folder" does nothing. I realised I always end up looking for other ways to save the video I need. :(

To say that it works well is very relative since 70% of the time it displays this message “We cannot download this file” so for 18€50 it's expensive to have an AddOn that doesn't do what I ask it to and it's been going on for a long time.

As far as browser-extensions go, it has been one of the better ones BUT - lately downloads have been failing semi-regularly where it only downloads 5% of the video! I feel like these downloader extensions always start out great and then the quality starts to go down and they stop working.

The AddOn itself is good. BUT: it does not work on Amazon Prime and Netflix while this is still listed on their website under "sites" as working. They told me this only after I had bought. I do want to use the addon for the other half of my work, but they were only willing to refund the 20.50 EUR whole and me not being able to use it at all, or NO REFUND AT ALL (even though only half of what was advertised is working). No compromise or goodwill. The tone of the emails was also very confrontational, for me to prove it, even though they were in the wrong. And 20.50 EUR for an AddOn that works only on certain streaming sites is STEEP: 10 EUR would be acceptable.

Seems the mp3 option requires a $30 license.

A l'époque, comme toutes les premières version de toutes les applications, ça fonctionnait sans aucun problème.
Mais avec le temps les gens rajoute toujours plus de contraintes utilisateur (prog externe, filigrane) afin de forcer et soutirer toujours plus d'argent.
Je souhaite personnellement un service simple et fonctionnel, pas de mises à jour futile sur la forme d'une icône.
L'existant de base de cette addon était de télécharger des vidéos, rien de plus.
Je suis donc passer en juillet 2025 sur yt-dlp-gui qui reste simple et fonctionnel.

entry level Ubuntu user: every time I reinstall a new version of Ubuntu the coapp is harder and harder to install. Have devoted so many nights of free time. Love the extension when functional, hate the install.

Entiendo que se necesite financiamiento, pero el código QR que incrustan en el video cuando tienes la versión gratuita es ridículamente grande, ocupa casi 1/6 de la pantalla. Si fuera más pequeño y con alguna transparencia o si solo se mostrara en algunos momentos, pensaría al menos pagar por la versión sin marca de agua, pero esta forma agresiva de forzar al usuario a pagar la encuentro bordeando la deshonestidad. Esto sumado a que te obliga a descargar un programa fuera del navegador para poder descargar videos de youtube, hizo que desinstalara la extensión de inmediato. Existiendo herramientas gratuitas, sin marca de agua y sin aplicaciones externas, no le veo utilidad a esta extensión.
