Description:

Writer Studio is a full word processor that lives inside Firefox. Open it in its own tab and write, format and export documents without leaving the browser. A sidebar shows your document live and holds all your settings.

Why Writer Studio

Private. Your documents are stored only in your browser. The extension collects no data, makes no network requests and has no accounts.
Live sidebar. Open the sidebar to see the document title, word count, characters and pages update as you type. It also gives you quick access to recent documents and settings.
Word-style editor. Fonts, sizes, colours, highlights, headings, lists, alignment, line spacing, indents, links and find and replace.
Tables. Insert tables, add or remove rows and columns, merge and split cells, and add header rows.
Pictures. Drop or paste images, resize them with handles, and add borders and alt text.
Templates. Start from Blank, Welcome tour, Letter, Résumé, Meeting notes, Report, Invoice or Weekly planner.
Export anywhere. Save as Word (.docx), PDF, Markdown, Excel (.xlsx), CSV, plain text or HTML.
Import. Open .docx, .xlsx, .csv, .md, .html and .txt files.
Your language. English, Deutsch and العربية, with full right-to-left support.
Light and dark. Follows your system theme, with a choice of accent colours.

Saving files
Firefox extensions can’t write directly to a folder of your choice. Files are saved to your Downloads folder, inside a subfolder you can name in the settings. Choose “Ask each time” to get a Save As dialog. To save into Documents, set Firefox’s download folder to Documents in its settings.

Getting started
Click the toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+W to open the sidebar, then click the button to open the editor in a tab.

downloads saves exported files.
