About this extension
Opened a website for one thing and ended up staying much longer?
Why am I here? helps you turn casual browsing into a focused session. Before using a website, write down what you want to do and choose how much time to spend. Your goal and a countdown stay visible while you browse.
Learn a new language, study a subject, or finish a specific task—with a clear reminder of why you opened the site.
Features
- Set your intention: choose a goal and a time limit before browsing.
- Keep your goal visible: a movable reminder shows your goal and remaining time. Its position stays consistent across tabs.
- Continue across tabs: opening another tab of the same site or reloading the page keeps your session going.
- Hear when time is running out: optional warning sounds, a countdown during the final 10 seconds, and a distinct finishing sound.
- Choose where it works: use a website list or enable all-websites mode after confirmation. Browser settings and internal pages are excluded.
- Use your language: available in 12 languages, with automatic browser-language detection and manual selection.
How to start
Open the extension settings, add a website, and save. Visit that website, enter your goal, and start your timer. An empty website list keeps reminders off unless all-websites mode is enabled.
When time runs out
The extension automatically closes the site's tabs across browser windows, including pinned tabs. The timer continues in the background, so save your work before the session ends.
Privacy
Your goals and settings are stored locally in your browser. No account, analytics, or data uploads.
