About this extension
BrowserTime – Privacy-First Website Time Tracker

BrowserTime is a lightweight browser extension that helps you understand how you spend your time online. It automatically tracks the time spent on websites, generates insightful analytics, and provides productivity reports—all while keeping your data completely private.

Unlike many time-tracking tools, BrowserTime works entirely offline. No accounts, subscriptions, cloud synchronization, or analytics are required. Your browsing statistics are stored locally using your browser's storage API, ensuring your data never leaves your device.

Privacy

BrowserTime is built with privacy as a priority.

No user accounts
No telemetry
No analytics
No advertising
No cloud storage
No personal data collection

All browsing statistics remain on your device and are never transmitted to external servers.

How It Works

BrowserTime monitors the active browser tab and records time spent on each website while the browser is in use. Tracking automatically pauses when the browser loses focus, the user becomes idle, or the active tab changes. Statistics are organized into daily and weekly summaries and displayed through an interactive dashboard.
