About this extension
Control any HTML5 video with simple gestures, with the mouse on a PC or with your finger on a touchscreen.
• Swipe up/down on the right half: volume (swiping up unmutes muted videos)
• Swipe up/down on the left half: brightness
• Swipe left/right: seek (also works on live streams within the rewind window)
• Long press on the upper half: 2× speed while held; on the lower half: 0.5×
• Double tap the left/right edge: jump −10 s / +10 s, keep tapping to jump further (touch only)
Works with mice, touchscreen laptops and tablets (including 2-in-1s in tablet mode), and Firefox for Android. An on-screen indicator shows the current value, also in fullscreen.
Settings:
• Toolbar button: choose per site whether to use all gestures, leave double tap to the site's player, or turn PureSwipe off.
• Settings page: swipe sensitivity, jump length, long-press speeds and site rules.
PureSwipe stays out of the way: it ignores the player's buttons and control bar, small videos and muted background clips. Sites with their own gesture controls (YouTube, Netflix, Twitch and others) are skipped.
No data collection, no tracking, no network requests.
If a player doesn't work well with the gestures, you can turn PureSwipe off for that site from the toolbar button.
