About this extension
The comment section no website can close. NostrComments puts a thread on every web page and keeps it on public Nostr relays, not on the site, so the site cannot remove it, and no moderator can close the conversation.
No account, no email, no tracking, and no server of ours in between. Nothing is sent anywhere until you switch it on, and you can turn it off for any site.
WHAT IT IS FOR
• Warning the next visitor: a shop that never delivered, a seller who vanished, an offer that is too good to be true. One comment already helps the next person, even if nobody ever replies.
• Discussing the news on sites that closed their comment section.
• Adding context to a company announcement, a government page or a press release.
SEE IT BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT
It asks to run on every site you visit, which is a lot to grant something you have not seen. So you can read a thread without installing anything: https://briskness-byte.github.io/thread/ — paste any address and it shows the comments filed under it, queried from the same public relays, straight from your browser.
GETTING STARTED
No account needed: generate a key in one click, or connect the Nostr signer you already have (Alby, nos2x-fox).
COMMENT AND DISCUSS
• Reply threads, up- and down-votes, and zaps over Lightning
• Comments posted since your last visit are marked "new", and you are notified of replies to you
• What the wider Nostr network has said about the page shows too, not only comments written here
• Share a comment to your Nostr feed, so people without the extension can see it
YOUR PRIVACY
• No account, no server, no analytics; a key you generate stays in this browser, optionally password-protected
• Pictures and avatars can wait until you ask for them
• Turn it off per site, or use quiet mode to show the button only where there are comments
• Your history stays on your device, searchable from the toolbar button
YOUR CONTROL
• Mute people and words; repeated comments from one key are folded into one line
• Delete your own comment (relays that honour the request drop it)
• Take your key to any other Nostr app, as nsec / npub
• Optional verified names, with a "speaks for example.com" label for a site's own key
• Your own relays, dark mode, and the button in whichever corner suits each site
• 100% open source (MIT)
SUPPORTING IT
Everything here is free and always will be — nothing is held back and there is nothing to buy. If you want to chip in, the panel has a "Support the developer" row that sends sats straight from your wallet to mine over Lightning, with no account and no company in between. The other ways are listed at github.com/briskness-byte/NostrComments#support

issues and pull requests welcome. Every feature is free and stays that way;
there is no paid tier.
The extension has no build step: content.js is the source, hand-written and
unminified, with no dependencies. What you install is what is in the repository.
