About this extension
Turn the page you're reading into a note in Memos — your own instance, your own data.
Memos Web Clipper saves the current page or a text selection as a source-linked memo in under five seconds. Open the popup and it composes the note for you: your selected text as a quoted excerpt, the page's own summary, and a link back to the source. Edit anything before saving — what you see in the editor is exactly what lands in Memos.
HOW IT WORKS
• Click the toolbar icon on any page — with or without a selection — and the memo is pre-filled and ready to edit
• Or right-click a selection (or an image) and choose "Save selection to Memos" for zero-interruption capture
• Choose visibility (private, protected, public) before you save
• Images in your selection are uploaded to your instance as real attachments
MAKE IT YOURS
• A small template with {{content}}, {{title}}, {{url}}, and {{description}} placeholders controls how every clip is composed
• Add your own default #tags as plain text in the template
• A live preview in the settings shows exactly how clips will land in Memos
BUILT FOR SELF-HOSTERS
• Connects to your own Memos instance — any origin, including your homelab
• Sign in with your usememos.com account, then link your instance with its URL and an access token
• Requires Memos v0.22 or a newer stable 0.x release
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The clipper reads the page only to build your note, and captured content is sent to exactly one place: the Memos instance you connected — and only when you save. No analytics, no third-party servers, no tracking.
Memos is an open-source, privacy-first note-taking service. Learn more at usememos.com.
