Hide Rutube Recommendations — Distraction-Free by Дмитрий

Watch what you opened on Rutube, not what the feed pushes next. The extension removes recommendations only: the column of related videos, the feed under the comments and the picks over the player. It does not touch ads or interfere with the player, so playback never breaks. The player, description and comments stay, and the video takes the freed space.

WHAT IS HIDDEN ON THE VIDEO PAGE
• The «Рекомендации» (Recommendations) column next to the player (on phones, the list under the description), with its carousel of short videos.
• The endless «Рекомендуем» (Recommended) feed under the comments.
• The «Рекомендации» picks that appear over the frame when you pause.
• Other videos on the screen after a video ends.
• The «Рекомендуем» tab next to the chat on live streams.

WHAT STAYS
• The player and all its buttons, including wide-screen mode.
• Title, author, subscribe button, description, comments.
• The author's playlist on the right when you watch a playlist.
• Live stream chat.
• After a video ends, the «Следующее видео» (Next video) card with its countdown and the autoplay switch: autoplay never happens unseen, and you can turn it off.

OPTIONAL: A HOME PAGE WITHOUT THE FEED
• A second switch, off by default. It removes the promo carousel, the «Для вас» (For you), Shorts and other shelves and the endless Recommendations feed from the rutube.ru home page.
• The header, search, section tabs and menus (including Subscriptions) stay. In place of the feed: "The feed is hidden by an extension — find videos with search".

NO GAPS
• Without the recommendations column the player, description and comments get wider. The player never gets taller than the screen, so its controls stay in view.

SWITCHES
• Click the extension icon: both switches take effect at once, no reload.

WHERE IT WORKS
• The rutube.ru video page: regular videos, playlists, live streams, and when you move between videos without a reload. On desktop and in a narrow window.
• The home page only when the second switch is on. Channels, search and Shorts are left as they are.

FAST AND PRIVATE
• Hiding is done with a style sheet; no script scans the page or slows it down.
• One permission: remembering the switch positions. No network requests, analytics or ads; nothing is sent anywhere.

Unofficial extension, not affiliated with RUTUBE. If Rutube changes its layout, some recommendations may come back until the extension is updated.

Interface in English and Russian.
